According to officials in the Gahombo health district, the lack of these vaccines exposes victims to a high risk of contracting rabies, a fatal disease if not treated quickly. This health crisis is causing serious concern among the population, fearing further attacks by stray dogs.

Faced with this emergency, the district authorities are urging the government and health partners to quickly provide the necessary doses. While waiting for a solution, they are calling on the population to strengthen surveillance and intensify the hunt for stray dogs to prevent further bites.

Residents of Gahombo, for their part, are calling for immediate intervention to avert a health disaster.
