A lifeless body was found in the Nyarugusu camp in Tanzania. Although it has not yet been identified, refugees say that it is of Burundian origin. INFO SOS Médias Burundi
It is the body of a young man in his twenties. He was found on Wednesday at zone 10, in a gutter that separates the Congolese and Burundian sections. His body did not have any injuries according to witnesses.
He has not yet been identified. However, Burundians suspect that he is of Burundian origin.
« Here in villages around the camp, there are many Burundians who came looking for work, or who returned in exile and who lacked shelter within the camp. He must be one of them,” they believe, stressing that he was killed outside the camp and thrown into this large gutter that crosses the Nyarugusu camp.
The body was put in a morgue pending the outcome of a medical investigation.
The police called on refugees to report any cases of disappearance and invite them to help identify the victim.
The Nyarugusu camp is home to more than 110,000 refugees, including more than 50,000 Burundians, the rest being Congolese.
